This site is a space where I hope to share and encourage relational life with kindred spirits who sense in the depths of their being a deep livingness by which they they feel roots in their relation to an unnameable wholeness of what we cannot deny is the whole world of life, a living world in which all living beings and things share the life of all life. The Long Art is simply a phrase for referring to arts of living in deep relation with the life of life. The Long Art is an ethic of responsiveness to the depths of interrelational life.

Ars longa, vita brevis

Latin phrase by Hippocrates meaning “life is short but art is long.” I argue that modernity is a system of vita brevis, a system of human thought and action cutting short the life of the living world, hence we need to pursue the long art of living a living life for as long as we live in this living world.
